Some kid stories

Sorry, no new pics just some stories about Elise and Patrick that I don't want to forget.

Elise:
~ Tonight she was tucking her naked Barbie, naked Tianna doll and big naked Ariel into my old cradle. I asked her why they were naked and she said "I want them to go ni-night like you do." :) Note: I do sleep with clothes on.
~ We read 2 books at night, she asked if she could take them to bed with her and I told her she could sleep with 2 books each night. She literally SLEEPS with them, doesn't read them, but HUGS them to her chest as she falls asleep.
~ She weighed herself this morning, she is obsessed about growing into a big girl and the scale has a bright blue light --- when it was 1# below yesterday Greg said oh boy you are smaller than yesterday. She said "oh great, how am I going to get big enough to go to preschool?!?!" and stomped out of the bathroom.

Patrick:
~ His Nuk is called his "this" and he calls his blanket his "MINE". Do you think he has an older sibling?
~ He LOVES walking down the stairs holding onto the railing saying with each step "down, down", "down, down", with a BIG proud smile on his face :)
~ If he doesn't get what he wants, he arches his back if you are holding him OR throws himself to the ground - any hints of terrible 2's? :)

Some days a good part is them going to bed, then the VERY close second is going in to get them up the next morning :) They truly are awesome, EVERY part!!!

Our little BIG man, 17 months

Patrick will be 17 months this week, time flies. Here are some of our favorite and crazy things our guy does now:

-Talks all the time, whether or not you know what he means. He tries to repeat all of our words.
-Loves balls and saying in a deep guy voice "bootbaaaawwwl"
-Blows a kiss and waves "bye bye" whenever some one is leaving
-The "cheese" smile and wink
-Climbs (tables, onto couches)
-Randomly runs up to you and turns around sitting in your lap
-Is Mr Smile and social, especially if you are a lady

Enjoying some snow

Finally on Wed it was a balmy 20* so we made our way outside for a bit. The swing set has proven to be fun in ANY season. Poor Patrick only lasts a short bit since the snow is up to his waist and shoulders in some places.

Enter the "CHEESE FACE"

Ever since Christmas morning, Patrick says "cheese" whenever he sees a camera and does the eye wink. We thought it was just a fluke that day, but as you check more pictures here, you'll notice it's not.

Just this week...Goof ball :)

Milwaukee Christmas

Apparently there are THREE options with these pictures:
A. Our kids have the Filipino "smile eyes".
B. They were really happy on Christmas morning
C. All of the above

SPECIAL Hugs and Kisses from Gram and Papa. We and the kids (among MANY others) are so lucky to have my grandparents still around. Elise talks about "Gram and Papa" alot. It's priceless to see them together :)

Squeezing in our own family Christmas

This Christmas season was awesome. Elise was so much fun with her enthusiasm for Christmas, Santa and Jesus' birthday. We added Elf on the Shelf (from my parents for St Nick's) - whom Elise named "Hopscotch". She was so excited to find him in the morning and point him out to Patrick, who's eyes would light up upon seeing him and point. There were only 2 days where we found Hopscotch in the same place as the day before and quickly moved him - WHOOPS!

We went to Hollidazzle and enjoyed watching our kids eyes more than the lit floats, they twinkled. Other fun moments, Elise's LOVE of Christmas music and "her song" - Elise Nadidad :) Patrick saying "ho, ho, ho", Elise's thoughtfulness of finding presents to give other people, she started her list in Nov - never was written down, but would have been 1000 pages long. Luckily we found out her one favorite thing so we could tell Santa about it. Elise = Princess tent; Patrick = balls

Solberg Christmas

We celebrated Christmas with my family the week before Christmas. It's become a tradition to take a "family" picture in front of the tree.

As soon as G put this hat on, Patrick stole it and thought it was hilarious :)

Patrick was very intent on opening his gifts, then would quickly do the help sign and say "hell, hell".

Do you think Elise liked this gift? :) It was the total scream and WOW Christmas moment you think about when you think about kids and Christmas :)

My baking assistant

Thanks to Grandma-Grandma, Elise and I have matching aprons. She is my little baking assistant, she LOVES cooking! It's nice to have her help in the kitchen. I am pretty impressed by her skills at age 3. She can crack an egg and put it in the bowl with me across the room. :)
